Red Sea conflict: Ocean rates “rise faster” than Covid 19 era

An Analysis by Xeneta reveals that the impacts of the Red Sea crisis have led to  ocean rate surge even faster than during the early days of Covid 19 pandemic.

The rates of ocean freight on key trades from the Far East to Europe surged more  than 200% in the first 52 days of the Red Sea crisis, the analysis concluded.

This outpaces the increase in rates seen during the first 52 days of the pandemic.
