Ground staff at Lufthansa Cargo are set to go on strike, leading to significant disruptions to flights tomorrow Wednesday Feb 07 until next Thursday at 7:10 am.
The German airline issued a warning to its customers, saying it will operate just 10% to 20% of about 1,000 scheduled flights.
The strike by baggage handlers, cargo staff and other ground services crews will impact all German locations, including major hubs such as Frankfurt and Munich, as well as facilities in Hamburg, Berlin, and Dusseldorf.
The strike is organised by Germany’s main services union Verdi that is seeking a 12.5 % pay raise, or at least an extra 500 Euro per month, for nearly 25,000 employees.
In response to the potential strike, the airline advised customers to be prepared for possible delays and uncertainties in freight services.
