Lufthansa Cargo gradually resumes operations

Lufthansa Cargo gradually resumes flight operations in Frankfurt and Munich after the end of the Verdi strike on Thursday morning, the German airline announced on its social media platforms including X, formerly known as twitter.

The airline however, added that due to the massive impact of the strike on our flight operations, there may still be few delays or flight cancellations throughout Thursday.

Ground staff at Lufthansa Cargo went on strike on Wednesday, leading to significant disruptions to flights across the country.

The strike by baggage handlers, cargo staff and other ground services crews was organized by Germany’s main services union Verdi.

The union was seeking a 12.5 per cent pay raise, or at least an extra €500 per month, in negotiations for nearly 25,000 employees.
