Personal effects or personal belongings:
Personal effects or personal belongings are privately owned items which are typically used and are being moved for relocation. These can be personal or household items. Examples could be furniture, clothing, jewelry, etc. Gifts (in reasonable quantities) are regarded as personal effects too.
Personal effects shipping involves sending these items across your country or internationally. Most countries offer a duty-free allowance on personal effects.

Points about Personal Effects:
- Before shipping, find out about import restrictions, prohibited items and regulations on gifts in the destination country.
- Airlines also have a list of forbidden products. These items are fallen into two categories of Dangerous Goods and Restricted Items. Examples are perfume, items with lithium batteries, etc. We will provide you with a form indicating all such products and you need to sign and resend it to us, confirming your shipment does not include these items.
- Ship in reasonable quantities! Do not ship items in what is deemed as excessive by customs office in the destination country. Shipping items in unreasonable quantities could alert customs officers.
- Another important point to be taken into consideration is that chargeable weight. This is the measurement used by carriers to determine the cost of shipping your goods. Chargeable Weight could be either the actual weight or the volumetric weight (dimensional weight) of your shipment, whichever is greater. In other words, shipping 1kg of feathers costs more than shipping 1kg of steel, assuming that the cartons of feathers take up more space than the cartons of steel.
